ASL-interpreted performances provide access to live theater for members of the hearing-impaired community. American Sign Language (ASL) is a complete, complex language that employs signs made with the hands and other movements, including facial expressions and postures of the body. It is the first language of many deaf North Americans and is said to be the fourth most commonly used language in the United States. Fluency in ASL happens only after a long period of study and practice and theater interpretation is, in itself, an art form. With six weeks’ notice, we'll make every effort to provide ASL interpretation for groups of 10 or more at no cost.

Audio description is a live narration of the visual elements of a production. The narration is scripted and rehearsed to be timed for pauses in the dialogue or musical interludes. Blind and low-vision patrons listen via a small headset receiver. With six weeks’ notice, we'll make every effort to provide audio description for groups of 10 or more at no cost.

Guide dogs are welcome - please let us know in advance if you will be bringing your guide dog.
